Joining many of the online services and tools like IPhoto, Flickr has added facial tagging (but not recognition).

It’s simple to tag someone (drag across a photo), click the Person button then enter a name, and your’e done. Flickr has a lot going for it in this service thanks to the volume of images they have on hand, but they’re behind sites like Facebook in terms of users, which will make it a less attractive social tagging tool than Facebook.

Still, tagged images of you will show up in your recent posts streams, so it’s a great way to find photos of you. There are also a number of privacy controls in place in order to make sure your image isn’t tagged unchecked.
